Needemp Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I am looking at the St Croix Premier rods on thier website and it gives the specific weight of how much the rod weighs. I am curious if they are lighter than BPS rods that are equivalent in price and quality, or any other rod that is equal to the Premier. I am hoping someone can help me. I looked on the net but couldn't find anything. Thanx for your help! Quote

Low_Budget_Hooker Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Gotta remember though, it's more about the balance than the weight. Quote
Guest avid Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 I agree with you on this Needemp. I always found it curious that St. Croix is one of the few rod companies that will post the weight of the rod. It just doesn't seem right that companies who loudly proclaim how light and sensative their rods are do NOT post the weight. It makes me think they have something to hide. As for balance, nothing could be more true. A perfectly balanced rod will feel alot lighter than the same rod out of balance. Sensitivity improves also. If you want a quick fix to a balance problem. See BPS and run a search for "The balancer" It's six bucks and will balance pretty much any rod. It ain't pretty but it works. Quote
