What opinions do you have regarding which line is better for which uses?

What's the difference between Sunline Sniper and Assassin?

I've only used Sniper, but the differences between it and Assassin have been spoken about in length on this forum and others.  Sniper is more of a bottom contact oriented line, stretching less and offering better sensitivity.  With that comes more memory, more stiffness, and less abrasion resistance.  Assassin is the more moving bait oriented line, sporting stretch, abrasion resistance, and handling.

 

Of course it could be said the abrasion resistance of Assassin could be more useful depending on cover when it comes to bottom contact; but that's just another scenario.

 

I'll let you come to your own conclusion on which line to use, I personally respool moving bait lines so often that I'm either using Seaguar Basix Fluorocarbon or Yozuri Topknot Mainline for those offerings.  I run Sunline Sniper for bottom contact, mostly...

 

...because I retie my lighter leader lines so often that I opt for the cheaper Yozuri Topknot in that realm.

The other difference is price. Sniper is a little more expensive, and the smaller spools are 200 yards vs 225.

The Assassin’s coating makes it more slick than Sniper which they say aids in its abrasion resistance with less overall sensitivity. 
I think they recommend it more for moving baits in cover. 
 

Sniper is much more sensitive and workable which makes it my line of choice for most everything. 
 

If you want a premium line with the best abrasion resistance I’d move up to thier Shooter line.
I use 20# for certain punching and heavy cover situations. 

I assume there is a price difference but that’s your choice.

 

There is nothing better. 
You get what you pay for especially in flouro line.
