Quantum

Featured Replies

Hey, guys, I know I just posted about the revo,  but someone I know said they would sell me a Brand New Quantum Energy PT (E760PT) for 115$. what I was wanting to know, should I? If you have it what do you think of it? What lures do you throw with it? Thanks for all the replys.

If it is the Energy PT that is a pretty good deal.  The one thing I would tell you to check if this person will let you, is how the reel sets on your rod.  I recently purchased an Accurist PT and after I got it home and put it on my rod I hate the way it sits up and is very difficult to palm.  I am going to exchange it for a Citica the next time I go to BPS.  I will say though that it is a pretty smooth reel and seems to have some pretty good cranking power.  I think you will like it, if you like the way it feels in your hand.

Take it!!!!!!, you can fish anything you want with it..... Aaah may be no big Swimbaits or Baby Griffons but anything else in between.

Thanks for the info, now do you think this reel is able to cast lite lures, or is it basically heavy ones?

Now what rod do you think I should get for it? (has to be under 100$). I was thinking of getting the "All Star GT40X" What do you think.

Thanks for all the help

I think any reel can cast lite lures.  Obviously some like the 50mg and the pixy are better at it than others, but you can cast lite lures with anything.

As far as a rod goes, if you are looking to fish a lot of lighter lures, I would look for something in a M power, fast action rod.  For under $100 I would highly recommend a Fenwick HMX.  Good quality rod, strong backbone, great sensitivity.  If you are not interested in a Fenwick, then I think I would recommend a St. Croix Premier.

I would be using Soft Plastics

For soft plastics, it's really kind of a preferrence on the rod power.  I prefer a medium heavy for fishing plastics, but a lot of people use a medium power.  Either way you can't really go wrong.

Get it!  They are awesome reels :)

Quantum® E760PT- GR 6.3:1, IPC 26.1"...

Should be a good reel for spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, T-rigs.

Tight Lines!!

Well   I made my decision, I am going to get the Airrus Co- Matrix. What do you think?

Good choice, I have an Ultra XL and a Co-Matrix spinning, they go with me every where.
