Bank fishing

Featured Replies

Tried to do a search. I live in Athol and looking for decent ponds near me that are good places to Bank fish. Few places I’ve been haven’t had to much luck.

Thank you, I never thought of going in those gates at the Quabbin. I thought it was just for boats.

I worked with a guy from Pelham that fished the shore a lot, but always at night, actually it was wade fishing. FWIW, you need a night pass for such, I think it’s for gate access, whether that’s for parking or some such I don’t know.

Athol as in Warren County, NY? Tons and tons of opportunities for shore fishing in Warren county. And if you hike in, those shore opportunities can be even better. The Hudson, Schroon, and Sacandaga rivers have public access along the road throughout the Adirondacks.

I see it looks like a different Athol. Apologies. Point stands though, if you’re ever in the other Athol lol

I’ll have to check that out. Thank you

Have you tried Lake Mattawa?

I went out on my kayak but I would imagine the shoreline would be hopping at dusk and dawn in the summer if you throw a topwater.

I got most of my fish in the stump bed not too far from the road where people bank fish.

I believe Quabbin still rents boats for fairly cheap. It’s first come first serve so you have to get there early.
