Wasn’t sure where to park this one so if it needs a different forum let me know.

I have a Minn kota Endura Max I had previously cut the shaft down on and hung over the side of my yak. Never liked that configuration so I am mounting it on the stern (already got that figured out). 
Now the fun part; I want to separate the head and steering handle from the shaft and relocate that beside my seat. 
Steering will be accomplished through cables to foot controls. The relocated head unit will control speed, forward and reverse. The Endura Max is already PWM controlled. 
so, is this just a simple, “extend the wires” kind of situation?
