Team Diawa Tierra Spinning Rod?

Featured Replies

Does anyone have experience with the Tierra Spinning Rods? They appear to have attractive features for a $60 rod. And yes, they spelled it DIAWA on the Daiwa website :o

Teamed with an Exceler reel it looks appealing as a $120 option.

Cheers!

I have a tienna reel coming this week, not sure about the rod, never held one.  New product.

Thanks LBH, obviously you liked the reel.

I was thinking I might go with the Tierra Rod / Reel combo instead of a St Croix Premier / Daiwa Exceler (or Symetre) combo.  Just trying to maximize my budget :o:)

I checked out both the rod and the reel. I was impressed with both, the reel feels solid and silky smooth. The rod was nice and light, hard to tell without fishin it tho. I might buy the Tierra reel, I have a Stradic coming because I wanted a 6:1 reel, the Tierra is 4.7:1 As a matter of fact I think my fishin partner just ordered the same combo you are lookiing at.
