Rod advice

Featured Replies

Recently have gotten back into fishing in the last year and have been working to rebuild my lineup. I live near Chattanooga and mainly fish Lake Chick and a few other smaller lakes.

Currently have a dobyns fury 702 spinning rod and a Loomis IMX Pro 843c. Ive been eyeing some of the shimano rods and decided to pull the trigger on several before the new pricing takes effect. Feel like I may have some overlap between these models though. Any rods you would have gotten instead?

I ordered: 6'10 Medium Expride (Jerkbaits, small treble hook baits etc) 7'3 XH Expride (frogs) 7'4 Heavy Expride (mostly jigs, swim jigs) 7'5 Medium Heavy Zodias (general mh workhorse rod) 7'7 Heavy Expride (A-Rig, Small swimbait,

ledge fishing)

Nothing wrong with some strategic overlap, or straight up redundancy in some cases. Sounds like you've acquired some nice rods.

nothing wrong with some over lap. hell i have 2 expride 72mh just becuase i use them for so many different things.

Every rod I own except for 3 are MH/F.
Most have different actions that I use for different presentations.
I did that purposefully because of the waters I fish the most and I want the added power that a medium doesn’t give.

The others are a H/XF and H/F for when the need arises.
I just got my first M/F that I like but it’s more of specialty combo for me.

All are casting as I don’t use spinning rods
