Greetings Bass Resource Folks,

 

My family and I are going on a road trip in a few weeks from Philadelphia to Wilmington, NC for a family function. We are stopping for a day in Roanoke Rapids and I will have rods & gear packed for myself and my 3 boys. 

 

Is anyone able to recommend a few good locations for some bank fishing on either Lake Gaston or Roanoke Rapids Lake? I won't be bringing my boat with me and we likely won't be able to fish for enough time to make renting a boat for the day with the $400+, though I'm thinking about it. 

 

I don't want anyone's secret honey holes or the like, just some easy access / fishing friendly docks or piers would be great.

I dont think there is much public land to shore fish from gaston. If you drive down a bit closer to raleigh you can hit Falls Lake that has a ton of state land with roads to a lot of shore line.
