Some of my winter work.

Have only mounted reels on 6 casting rods since my move. Decided for chits and giggles to weigh all my rods. Good thing I did. Wound up with 4 more casting rods than I thought I had. 😄

Heaviest was already a given. Bought a 7'7" MR Ballistic on closeout. Easy to see why they dropped the line. Not a fun rod to fish. Knew the B-Hittay would be up there. Lightest were my two Okuma Helios 7' MF with a 6'9" MHF Graphitleader Veloce close behind and a Helium 3 7' M-XF close behind it. The Smoke Inshore 7' MF was only .05 oz. less than the Helium.

What was a surprise were my two Hammer rods. Pretty sure both are from the Elite Micro series. The 7'3" MHP was .36 oz. lighter than the 7' MH.

Very few spinning rods to weigh.

Earlier I researched the weight of my casting reels. Now I'm considering weighing them with line spooled. That will allow me to figure the total weight of each combo. However, I will be the first to admit that total weight isn't everything. My Aetos 6'6" MLM isn't the lightest at just under 4 oz., but feels like a wand with the PXL Type-R at 10 oz. total weight with line. Pure pleasure to fish.
