Tackle Tray Storage

Featured Replies

Hey there fellas -

I checked into the forums, and can only find an old post from 2009 regarding storage solutions for trays. I have Plano Edge 3700's (THIN) and I'm looking for any ideas/products for clean and organized storage. I have unfortunately had to relocate to a home in which I do not have a garage, so, the cleaner the solution, the better. I was considering perusing IKEA or something, but wanted to see if any of you already had the problem figured out.

Thanks y'all.

I bought a bunch of Meiho boxes. They all have a single large latch that closes reliably. They come in different sizes but they don’t match traditional 3600 or 3700 dimensions. They also come in different depths and have held up pretty well. The dividers are good at keeping things from moving in between cells, even small terminal tackle. The build quality is pretty good too. I bought one of their thin ones for terminal Tackle, not as a main terminal Tackle box, but for quick access to terminal table I use most of the time. It is fine, but it is too thin for larger hooks or jig heads.

I don’t know how helpful this will be but when we moved my wife had several small, cheap cabinets that were from Target or somewhere similar. I used them to store my Plano 3600 and 3500 boxes in a walk-in closet. The boxes don’t fit perfectly but if you are trying to keep them out of sight, it’s something to consider. I obviously didn’t have enough to store all my other accumulated fishing gear.

It's cheap and probably not as permanent as you'd like, but the collapsible grocery box things like this are roughly the same dimensions as a 3700. I stack 3700s vertically in them and label the ends of the trays. When they are full, you can stack them.
