Making Large Spoons

Featured Replies

I bought aluminum sheets and made large (8-10 inch) spoons. Cut and bent the aluminum then used premium fish decals and they look great. I wanted the look in the water to act like a wobbling Cleo or Daredevil. Instead, what happens they just pull in, curved side down and have NO motion and they lay flat. What is the issue? Weight distribution? Curve? Anyone else have this issue? What should I do differently?

Did you put any kind of trailer on it? How about a treble hook? Try adding a 4 or 5 inch twister tail to a hook and see if it improves. I know a twister tail makes a huge difference with a Silver Minnow
