Getting house brand reels serviced

Featured Replies

I am sorry to say what I have mostly read here does not seem to match my experience. I bought 2 reels from BPS and One from Cabelas. Inside each reel was a number to call when and if you want their reel serviced. Both have reel shops in their Main Stores. So I called both numbers and was told yes we service them. they stated i hade to pay for S&H and that turn around time may be effected seasonaly. No excuses , no run arounds. This is not a dis at Reel Mech but what difference does it make I would still have to ship them (S&H) to Reel Mech to get them serviced anyway.

I did not telll them I was checking thier service, both calls started with > I bought a reel from you, hosue brand. Both Companies question was what reel/model then the looked up S&H gave me ann adress and said send it in for service NO PROBLEM

Muddy, they will also sell parts to you, so keep the schematic that came with your reels, so you can get the correct part number. Without the part number you are glued, screwed and tattoed because they will not look it up for you. I've had no problems at all ordering parts from BPS. I've even ordered Quantum parts from them. I've never ordered any from Cabela's, so I can't comment.

Cheers,

GK

Thanks but with my mechanical capabilities a schematic does me as much good as a ski lift in Aruba

I guess because I don't work house brands you couldn't send them to me.  :)

All of the brands, no matter what brand, the reel box has a booklet in them telling were the satellite service centers are, always have.

But how many anglers do you know that save anything from a reel box, or even if they do, read it... :o
