Daiwa Fuego?

Featured Replies

Spinning or casting?

I have the casting reel and I must say I'm extremely happy with it.

It is light at 7.6 oz's but has excellent line capacity.

It is very low profile and can be palmed easily.

It has the magforce Z which is very effective for backlash free casting in all conditions.

I am a die-hard daiwa guy.  I have several TD-Z's and a sol as well.  I can tell you that the fuego is only a little heavier than the td-z and perhaps slightly less capable of handling really light lures, but these differences are slight.  It is a great reel.

I'm looking at the casting version of the fuego and maybe a SoL spinning reel in the future.

Like I said I have both the sol and the fuego.

Fuego hands down.

I have the bait casting version. I really love it. Smooth, lite and casts great. If you have smaller hands (like I do) it palms like a dream.

I dont own one but was able to trade one for a few weeks in exchange for a spinning outfit a friend of mine used while on his trip in florida. In my opinion its Daiwas closest reel in their current line-up that resembles their former flagship reel the TDZ minus some bearings.

My best friend got one after I recommended it for his new, 7' Kistler LTA Helium Medium Caster rod.  He loves it and has caught a bunch of Bass with including one or two 8 lbers.
