Quantum Customer Service

Featured Replies

After reading Flechero's issues with Shimano reels I thought I would share my recent experience with Quantum. I have and older spinning reel, it has the TiMag bail system with a graphite frame. I am pretty sure it pre-dates the PT series and was probably the first generation of the TiMag system. I would guess the reel is seven years old.

The frame was cracked right below the reel foot. I did some searching and found part numbers for the non "Ti" version. So I sent Quantum an email and asked if the frames were interchangeable and if they were still available or if there was a current product with a frame that would work. I received an email from Quantum within two hours, the email said  "send us the reel we'll take care of it" and had their address. I had read the warranty and service information on their website which states to send a check for return postage. Their email didn't ask me to do that and I was assuming I would get a call to tell how much the repairs would cost. I sent them the reel with a copy of the email and my contact information. They received the reel on Monday. As of last night I still hadn't heard anything from them but I decided I wouldn't call them until Tuesday if I didn't hear from them today.

When I got home from work there was a package on my porch I figured they had sent the reel back and were going to tell me sorry about my luck. When I opened the box there was a brand new Kinetic PT staring back at me. I know the TiMag bail system is guaranteed for life (at least on the new PT's) but the bail was fine on my reel. Total cost to me: ZERO,ZIP,NADA, NOTHING, $0.00.

Needless to say I am totally blown away. How can I not be a loyal customer for life after such a great experience? Well, I do have a Daiwa on order so I guess I will have to start after that.

I would suggest to Flechero to give them a try since he is fed up with Shimano but I am sure the Quantum casting reels are way too heavy.

There are still companies out there that care and will go out of there way to make customers happy. I know there are not many Quantum fans on this site and the only thing I can say to you Quantum bashers is that maybe you should give them a second chance. It appears to me they are working hard to make things right.

Cheaper for them to just replace disposable reels.
