Revo Help (Weird Noise)

Featured Replies

Went out fishing today with a buddy and after fighting a 4 lber my Revo SX had a funny little noise and it suddenly became a little less smooth on the retrieve.  Granted this reel gets a good beating from fish, gravel dust, and today alot of duckweed building up everywhere but I was wondering if anyone has suggestions (other than sending it to Reelmech-which may happen anyways) as I am going to Lake Vermillion in 3 weeks to battle smallies and northern.  I know no one can give a perfect diagnosis but any quick fixes, otherwise it is going to Dave, because the last thing I was is my reel not acting right in Minnesota.  Thanks in advance.

A funny little noise could be just about anything (can you be a little more specific). As far as a little less smooth on the retrieve, this could be from something gumming up the crank paddles, the crank shaft assembly, right down to something gumming up the levelwind assembly.

You might consider getting your back up reel ready for that trip....

The retrieve is just a little louder, kind of like a hum but not...if that makes any sense.  I cleaned it last night and oiled it up and I will see if it is any better today.  What is your normal turn time on reels Reelmech??

That can depend on how many reels I have lined up infront of a reel when it is received.
