Revo SC?

Featured Replies

I just noticed on Cabela's they have a Revo SC I was wondering what's different from it and the S, SX and STX? I noticed it has 2 less bearings is that all? It also says Cabela's exclusive I was wondering does that mean they cheapened up the quality or just subtracted the bearings? Because I've heard at wal-mart they lower the quality of the reel so they can lower the price I'm scared to spend that kind of money on a cheapened version of the real thing.

Same quality, just 2 less bearings and it is painted red.  The cool thing with Cabela's is that anything you buy there is 100% refundable, exchangable, etc. for any reason.

Taylor87,

The Revo SC is a standard S series Revo made exclusively for Cabela's. Garcia has been doing this for years as you noted with their round and spinning reels..

Tight Lines!!!

According to the Cabela's write up, the RevoS has a total of eight ball bearings plus one roller bearing.

The RevoSC is written up as a Cabela's Exclusive and carries CRBB's (Stainless steel bearings and corrosion-resistant roller and spool bearings), but doesn't give the count (so I don't know where Taylor87 and acar555 got the count from...

I can tell you that the reel (RevoSC) is a HS gear ratio 7.1:1, were the (RevoS) is only 6.4:1 ratio. The SX and the STX can both be had in either gear ratio.

So that may be the price difference...

Tight Lines All!!

The Revo SC also has the external magnetic adjustment like the SX and STX however has the same bearing count as the S.  That is why it is priced between the S and the SX...I think.

The bearing count came from the box the reel comes in and from Cabela's website.  It has 2 less bearing that the SX.  It also has the external magnetic braking control and high speed 7.1:1 ration that the S version doesn't have, but it only is available in right hand retrieve.

You know from the website write up it's hard to tell what that reel (Revo SC) actually has:

:-/

* High Speed Gear Ratio 7.1:1

* Duragear oversized brass main gear

* Carbon Matrix Drag System

* Aluminum frame and side cover

* Stainless steel bearings

* Corrosion-resistant roller and spool bearings

* Linear Magnetic brake system

I agree about the 6 pin braking system, but I know it has the external braking control.
