St.Croix telescopic rods ?

Featured Replies

Anyone tried these? I been thinking about a jig set-up (flippin/pitchin) rod. I looked at either the St.Croix tournament 7'6" mh flippin rod or the GLoomis 7'3"mh Frog rod.The Gloomis is not telescopic but the St.Croix is,are there any problems that happen with a telescopic rod?I've never owned one. I was thinking about pairing it up with a Diawa Luna.

Depending on how well the rod is built at the ferrule, if it hasn't been wrapped or properly prepared there can be loosening of the joints there or even splintering of the ferrule section. I wouldn't recommend it unless you don't have rod lockers or storage long enough to accommodate a 1 piece 7'6" rod.

Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!
