Went to my local Gander Mtn. yesterday and came out a little poorer or a little richer, depending on how you look at it.  They had a lot of combos for sale so I picked up a Fenwick Venture 6'4" M power with

an Abu Garcia Cardinal 301 spinning reel. Price was $79.99.  I had an Abu spinner in the past and really liked the reel until I broke the handle and I've always wanted to try the Fenwick.  I know this isn't exactly

top of the line stuff but the whole rig just feels right in my hand. Very lightweight, very balanced. I can't wait to get out and use it.  I opted for a slightly shorter rod for work in tighter spaces, since I mostly bank fish.  Hope the rig performs like I think it will.
