Daiwa RS 1600

could anyone tell me the gear ratio of this old reel. i have one of these on my medium action ugly stik and the reel fits the poundage for the pole, however i havent been able to find out what the gear ratio is. this reel i have is in nearly new condition, which i have set up on stren 14lb test line. also can anyone tell me what year this reel came out in?

One fairly simple way to measure the gear ratio of a spinning reel is as follows:

place the crank handle in a horizontal position. Mark the top of the rotor, as it sits even with the reel foot. Slowly crank the handle, and count the revolutions of the marked rotor, to one full turn of the crank back to the horizontal position it started at.

I will probably measure out to be around 4.1 revolutions of the rotor to 1 full crank of the handle. 4.1:1

Hope this helps
