Flipping stick combo?

Featured Replies

Iam gonna be buying a Flipping stick combo soon I was hoping some of you guys could reccomend what length?med?med/heavy?or Heavy? And reel ratio 5:4:1?And what size weight should I use?Gonna be flipping worms in lily pad holes. Thanks?

I would get a 7 foot medium heavy. In lily pads you are going to want at elast a half ounce weight to get it down quick so the heavier rod will be best. For reel, I would say a 6.3:1 or something like that. Hope this helps!

Get a regular 7'6" flipping stick. Every rod company makes one. If U can handle the rod length and afford it a 8 footer is all the rage. But for starting out a 7'6" is the way to go.  The length of the rod allows u to get the fish out of the pads or other cover in a hurry. Go w/ a Heavy action. U want ur rod to have guts if ur flipping vegetation.  U got the right gear ratio in mind. I use a 1/2oz. 70% of the time when flipping pads.  Also use atleast 50lb braid.
