Sinking rate of Different lines

Featured Replies

For about 2 weeks I was using some Cabelas proline and doing very well, averaging about 10 fish per outing(mostly dinks). I bought a new reel and spooled it with Stren 10lb  Mono in the same color of the Cabelas Line and my catch rate went down to about 3 per outing.

I then spooled a reel with #20 Spiderwire Stealth with a 6ft leader made of Stren 10lb line and just about got totally skunked(caught 1) by having my girlfriend notice my line was swimming away while I was looking the opposite way.

I wasnt doing anything else different. Was throwing *** Trick Sticks in a Watermelon Purple swirl color wacky rigged.

Seemed like on every spot I fished with the Cabelas line I would catch at least 2 and get several bites.

Does the braid have a different sink rate than the Mono? Maybe yesterday when I almost got skunked, the bait just wasnt getting as deep as I thought?

I know itCould have been alot of different factors but this is one factor im curious about.
