Daiwa Viento?

How many people have these, and what do you guys think?

I was thinking about putting it on a Gloomis GLX 844C, strictly using it for 3/8oz and 1/2oz jigs.

Figured it might be cool being able to hop the jig with just the push of a button...

I was going to get the Curado for this rod, but figured I'd ask about the Viento before I made my decision.

I had the viento for about two weeks. I did not care for the twitchin bar.  It cast nice but I sold it for a Revo STX.  I would get the Curado for $165. You will be very happy.

my friend got one and he too, like everyone else, says its not what it lives up to be. you really dont use the twitchin bar as much as you'd think. but besides that, the reel itself is ok. its probably a $150 dollar reel, the rest is just paying for that twitchin bar. its definitly something you can live without.

I have an IMX 843C and an IMX 843C. Both have the Daiwa Viento reels on them. It is true, you don't use the twiching bar much, but they are good reels. I probably would have Curados on both these rods, but I got the reels on eBay for $135 each, so I couldn't pass it up.

In most cases, I would understand, you don't use the bar. For my case, I would use the bar much more often then most people do. This rod will just be for jigs, and it would make fishing for 10 hours easier when it comes to fishing a jig. Much less arm work!

I'm probably going to just go with the Curado as all my reels are shimano, and they haven't let me down yet.

I looked on ebay and couldn't find any vientos for $135! Lucky!
