New Reel

Featured Replies

I bought the 7.1:1 Megaforce at a local store. So far I like it but Ive just flipped a little bit. I put it on a 7'0" TD-S jig rod with 15 lb P-Line flouro-coated stuff. It doesnt feel quite as good as my Viento but its better than a Pfluger I own. I should be able to try it out tomorrow so hopefully Ill have some good news :)

BTW was the 7.1:1 a good ratio for jigs? I usually make mid length casts at thick brush and stumps and my average fish is about 14-16 inches long.

A lot of guys like the high speed for pitching/flipping- once you are done with the cast and have no takers you can repeat much quicker.

I like the Megaforce A LOT. It casts a mile, I could freespool jigs with no problems, and it got smoother the longer I fished with it. The only thing I didnt like is that it doesnt have a strong drag. I had it cranked down to better handle the 15# test but it was still slick. Im hoping it will get better with time like my other reels have. For day one I would give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
