Best Basstrix knockoff?

Featured Replies

Since reading about this lure in Bass Master, I have been looking for these like everyone else.  There are simply not many out there and i was wondering if there was a good alternative that people have had similar success with??  Thanks

there's one knock off sold on ***.

They aren't as soft, causing them not to be so limp and life like while swimming.

That's the main complaint I've heard. They're just not the same. Basstrix is in a league of their own.

Yeah, I saw Basstrix on ebay before Bassmaster spread the news.  They were already about $35-50 a piece and on backorder.  Now the price will just go up.

The baitmonkey is expanding his market strategies....

I know Poor Boy's makes a knockoff called the Silly Rabbit. That might be the same one Brokejaw is talking about from TW.

I was lucky enough to pick up a couple packs at an outdoor show last winter before everyone and their brother wanted them. They have amazing action. I've been using the 6" model for smallmouth with decent results. tight lines

Yah, I get the real basstrix from time to time and keep half the packs I order for myself, and sell the other half.

Not a knock off but something else to try that I was using before the Paddletails and still use some is the XPS Boss Baitfish in the saltwater section at Bass Pro. Its not a tube but a solid swimbait that swims like the Paddletails. Best part is they work and look great but don't cost like the Paddletails or other knockoffs. You can use the same weighted hooks and just cut a slit for the hook in the bottom of the bait to help with hookups.
