Kistler LTA 08'?

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the new 2008 Heliums?

I know the LTA's tend towards the mod-fast side, and was wondering if the 08's have retained the same action, or if they have gone a bit faster?

The website says the blanks are stronger than before, so they have been changed.  I was wondering how that change has translated towards the action of the rods?

Also, while I'm on the subject of LTA's, I have a question about the 07' He63APC.  Any comments on this rod?

I know it is a MH, but I was wondering how soft the tip is?  I ask because I was thinking about picking it up for topwater and jerkbaits, and I usually prefer a meduim powered rod for these techniques.  I figured if the rod is more mod-fast, and/or has a softer tip, I could substitute this for my medium powered rods and not miss a step.

Also, anyone using this rod for cranks or spinnerbaits in cover?

-Thanks,

Shaun

Sorry Shaun, I have the Kistler Helium TLA He76THC and I love it.

Caught a bass on the very first cast with her on Lake Gaston last year.

It is a very light and powerful rod.

Hope someone out there can answer your question.

Suggest you go to their web sight. They have a forum there for all your questions. There's nothing like getting it straight from the horses mouth.

In their LTA forum Trey answered that question and some others for me.

Will do, thanks guys.   ;)

I see a He76HC in my future Sam, too bad this one wasn't on clearance at Cabelas.  I don't own one heavy powered bass rod, and this one is near the top of my list.  It'll see a lot of use for frogs, c-rigs, and jigs, basically an all-purpose heavy rod.  I have a Zillion just waiting for a new home.

The Kistlers that are on sale at Cabelas are 07 rods.  If they have the length and power that you want I wouldn't let that stop you from getting one.  It is a good deal.

I bought the He70mc and the He69apc. Both are incredible as usual. The 7ft med is a great cranking rod and the 6'9 is great for spinnerbaits, light pitching, t-rigs and senkos in cover. The 6'9 is a great all around rod. I wish I had bought 3 or 4 more.  The 7 ft is everything that I like in a cranking rod. I had bought the Carrot for cranking, but it's not agreeing with me.

Yea, 10-4 zelmo.  Unfortunately they are sold out of the models I want.

When I can afford a separate rod for jerkbaits, I'll give the medium rods a look flippin.

I'm going to give Trey a buzz next week.  From what I've learned so far about the 08's, the MH's are faster than the previous blanks, but I'm not sure about the mediums.  I'll post an update after I get the skinny from Kistler.
