I am considering putting aftermarket spools on a few of my TD-Z's. For those of you who have made this modification, can you tell a signficant difference in performance?  Trying to justify spending $80 on each reel.

I haven't purchased spools for my TD-Z's, but have for my Alphas (IZE' factory red spools).  They made a difference...I noticed about an extra 10yds consistently on a 'good' cast.  It doesn't change your reels characteristics really.  I'm sure the Mg spools that are available for the TD-Z's would make a noticeable difference, but I'm so content with how well the ceramic hybrid spools cast that I just can't see spending the money.  I'd probably rather add 90mm Bassart handles with cork knobs before I went with spools.  Just my opinion...
