Rod Socks

Featured Replies

Good day everyone!  Has anyone made their own rod socks.  If so, how long and what type of material?  thanks.

I had given it some thought.  But, when the same thing can be bought from bass pro for $3.99, it's pretty hard to beat.

I have made my own but they are kind of different.  I bought pipe insulation at Home Depot and some zip ties.  Not only keeps rods from getting tangled but it also has some cusion for the ride down the lake.

Just slide the insulation on and squeeze it together just above tip, leave about an extra inch.  Now just squeeze together and hold close with a zip tie.  The insulation is under a buck and zip ties are under a buck for a whole bunch.   You do the math!!!!!

I made few rod socks two weeks ago. I went to the clearance rack at the local fabric store and bought a heavy fabric that was a 1/4" thick. I made all of mine 7'6" long and around ~3.5" wide when u fod the fabric over.

I can fit 4 rods in my PVC tube that I made last year. I can post pics later this evening if you want.
