Rod and reel applications....  What to use with what?

Hey all.  I have as of now, 1 rod and reel that I do most of my bass fishing with.  I'm a student on a budget and can't afford a specialty rod for each application.  The rod is a 6'6 M/H Tourlite by Quarrow produced for Dick's Sporting Goods.  It is listed as a med/hvy power but does not list the action.  I assume its a standard fast action which seems most common.  It came as a combo with an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur V5000 baitcaster.  The reel is a round type and is 5.3:1.  I also found in my some tackle bags two older baitcasters.  One is what looks like from some research online a 1987 or 88 Shimano Bantum Magnumlite Speedmaster low profile.  It's a nice reel for the age and is 6.1:1 ratio.  I also found a cheap South Bend low profile baitcaster that is 5.1:1.  My question is what reel would you use what for and what rods to get to pair up to these reels.  What reel would you pair to the 6'6 rod that I currently have?
