Guide Series Rods

Featured Replies

I was looking at the Gander Mountain Guide Series rods the other day and wanted some opinions. I'm looking at the heavier rods, baitcasting, MH or H with fast action. Probably as a flipping rod or just a big bait rod.

Anyone have personal experience with these?  Would like to stay under $100 and willing to consider other brands.

i have a guide series 5'6 rod and love it, i also have a st croix premier and i dont prefer one over the other. they are dffinetly worth the money

I have a couple 7' medium Pro Select IM-8 rods. I think they are great.

Fish Man- Thanks that is the kind of comparison I wanted. My buddies here all use St. Croix and swear by them. Great Avatar BTW.

Falcon- Who makes the Pro Select and where are they available? We have a Dick's and a Gander Mountain here in town. BPS or Cabelas is like a 3 hr drive away.

I have the Guide Series "Guide" rods in 6'6" M and MH.  I use the MH for my T-rig rod and the M rod for crankbaits.  They are fine rods for the money, and an even better bargain when they are on sale.

Xboxfiisherman,

The Pro Select is a model in the Gander Mountain "Guide Series" rods.
