Asked my wife to pick up a big spool of #17 Cajun Red Cast for me yesterday when she went to Walmart and she came home with Cajun Red Lightening. I figured I would give it a try anyway and to tell you the truth I can't find one thing wrong with it! Spooled it on my Revo S and tried it out in the yard last night and from the first cast to the last thing morning I have not had any problems at all. It cast great and acts pretty much the same as Cast. Why do some people say to stay away from Cajun Lightening is beyond me or maybe I'm missing something here. Mike

I have never had any trouble with it either. The only time I have ever had any issues with it, is when I left on my reels for a long time and it had a lot of memory. Other than that it has worked fine for me.

Guess what! I did get to fish it today for a couple hours on the Elk River. Windy, cold and the river is running clean and green but really high. Never got one hit at all. Anyway, so far so good with the line. Not saying your wrong just saying that I have had no problems so far. Time will tell. Mike

I got 1 spool of 20# that could have been used to fence in Bulls.  It had more memory than barbed wire.  Used it 1 trip, stripped it off when I got home and have used it only for backing since.  The red works good to show me when I am getting a little low on my "good" line.

Some of you guys keep talking about this line and others that have some kind of memory problem and you look at it as a bad thing if it has coils in it as it comes off the spool.

If it can be casted better then allot of lines, If it holds up well in the abrasion category, if the stretch is low and the strength is high how can this be a bad line? If so many people love it and find no problems with it then how is it a bad line ?  

What do you guys consider a good line and why ? Bet there are more opinions then you can shake a stick at when it comes to what is the best line out there today for our bait casting reels Mike

I made friends with an old guy out there who just fish that lake maybe 3-4 times a year.He struggled with the knots and line hopping off due to memory.I ended up giving him my trilene XL spool of line which i always carry a backup line for one of those 'just in case" moments.Put it on and he pretty much was able to fish the rest of the day without dealing with his line.Took care of his problems.I feel bad for people who have this line and have major problems with it.

If you want a cheap line but still performs get trilene big game.I still think this line is the best for your bucks line.

Again , I can take you to several different sites where guys rave about this line and love it! Have no problems at all with and swear by it. I have had none of the problems you all speak of about this line and in fact it has been great in every way. If it's as bad as you claim then why is that none of your problems exist for me or many others? As I said you can go to other sites and read nothing but praise for this Cajun Red. I sure do like it.  I have found a considerable difference in the "cast" and the "lightning".  Cast is smooth, has no little to no memory issues, and seems to be fairly strong line.  Lightning is GARBAGE!  It has more issues than Britney Spears.  Stick with the "cast" and you can't go wrong.

Think this is the key, get the Cast not the Lightning if you want to try this brand.  After the way the Lightning was that I got, I wasn't going to risk more money for the Cast and chance it.  It may be good, but I have found lots of other lines I have good results with.
