Eager Beaver... how do you fish them....

Featured Replies

Just got some watermelon candy Eager Beavers.....they look like a cross betreen a oversized crawfish trailor and a fat worm....

question is, are these any good.....they smell a little too plasticky....and i dont even get how to use them cuz their flat on the one side.....

are they used as a trailor, or like a plastic worm, they say they float

The Eager Beaver is the Bass Assassin version, and it is a hand pour, I believe, with a flat side.

I had some, don't know what happened to them though.  I was using them with a gamakatsu lead head hook, it looked like a worm hook with a bullet sinker molded to it.  This helped keep the flat side down.  I also used weighted jerkbait hooks.

I am a big fan The bass assassin line of lures, they have that 'P Enzyme' worked into the bait - it doesn't smell like anything to me, but the bass love it.  It works better for me than any other 'scented' lure (gulp, powerbait, yum, etc).

If bass assassin makes a version of whatever worm, I will tend to use that over any other.  When they come out with their own Senko Knock off, I'll be first in line to grab them up.

thanks man, so what your saying is the scent is good!

they smelled kind of rubbery, and the packaging looks cheesy...but im pretty hyped to get tem in the water

do you use them with the front part attached or detached.....it has like a split through the middle

I pull the front apart so it looks like two separate claws.

Yep.  Although with all the posts on scents cropping up, I dunno if this is quite a scent or a taste, but whatever it is, it works well for me.

If you have a chance to pick up Bass Assassin's Charm Assassin, it is my favorite shaky head bait by far.  It's kind of like a trickworm with a tapered tail.
