Casting question

Featured Replies

I am starting to notice that I am losing distance on my cast no matter what setup I am using. Does the amount of line on your reel make play a part in distance? I do not mean when I get to the end of the line. Only when you have about half a reel of line left. I am still learning about everything so I apologize if this sounds stupid.

If it's a deep spool spinning reel then yes as you have less and less line on your spool the casting distance will decrease due to the added friction on the lip of the spool.
