citica combo

Featured Replies

Went into BPS today to pick up some hook/worms/odds and ends, and noticed that they were selling a combo where you could get a citica and BPS xtreme rod for $109 after the 30 dollar shimano rebate.  I stood there looking at the rack for a minute, and decided I couldn't pass it up.  I even asked the guy next to me at the rack if that was really the deal I thought it was.  I've never owned a shimano, and I have two questions:  1)  can i expect the same enjoyment out of my citica as I can out of my revo S, and 2)  was there some hidden catch to this that you guys know about that should warrant me being worried.  Just something about saving 100 bucks that makes me wonder.

Needless to say, the bait monkey hit hard today.

From what I hear the Citica is on the same level as the Revo S. Although I've never used a BPS rod, I can only see a "cheaper" rod being the issue. Not a cheap rod by any means. Just "cheaper".

1) can i expect the same enjoyment out of my citica as I can out of my revo S.

You can expect better 8-)

From an unbiased person that owns both a Revo S and a Citica 100dsv and Citica 200d, you can expect it to perform better IMO. I have played with both a lot in the past two weeks and I can cast farther with my Citica and it just feels more sturdy on the retrieve. You will definately enjoy it.
