Flipping stick. Which to get?

Featured Replies

I am in the market for my first flipping stick. My current choices are the e21 carrot stix 7' 6" heavy rod, or the daiwa light and tough 7' 6" heavy rod. Any other suggestions? I have a limit of about 150 bucks. Thanks!

I sent you a PM.

Kistler offers a 7'6 in the Graphite Special line. I have owned and own several Kistlers and love them all. I also own a Carrot Stix, but it is a crankin rod. So I can't coment in the flippin stick. As for the L&T by Diawa, three of my buddies own them. They are light, but as for tough I think they are a little weak. One rod had a defective reel seat and 2 broke. One broke right above the reel seat on a hook set.

Good luck with your choice and keep us posted. Oh and buy the way. I love my Carrot Stix and will purchase many more.

Bass Pro has there Extreme flippin stick on sale for $ 59.00. I bought a 7' 11", they are $ 79.99 when not on sale. Not a bad rod for alot less money.

Falcon Lowrider or Fenwick flipping sticks both are good choices for around $130.  Or spend an extra 30-40 dollars for a St. Croix Avid flippin Stick

If you are actually going to be doing more Pitchin' than Flippin', you might want to check out the 6'10" All Star Pitchin' Stick.

I have been using then for the last few years and I love them. They are a lot easier to manuever than the bigger Flippin' Stick, but the still have a lot of backbone when you need to get a fish out of heavy cover.

Forgot to mention. I prefer to have a split grip too.

I believe you hit the nail on the head with the TD Light 'n Tough.  Best bang for the buck rods out there IMO.(In that price range) :)

7'6" Crucial MH.  AWESOME rods ( I have 2)  They have the split grip and fish more like a 7' when it comes to weight but will definitely move big fish out of cover ( I just won big fish in a BFL last weekend with a 6lb. 8oz toad that had me wrapped up under a dock and I just hauled her rear back around the piling) Can't go wrong with them.

Another vote for the Crucial.  I have the 7'11".  One of the best warranties in the buisness as well.
