St croix Customer service and warranty...

Featured Replies

Has anyone had any trouble dealing with them before?

I broke my rod about a month ago and I sent in my rod the next day...at the time when I called them they were more than helpful...telling me that they could get a new rod to me (I did the upgrade option to a Tournament Legend rod from an Avid) within 3 days after they received my rod...

Once I confirmed through tracking that they had received it I waited about 5days before calling them to see what was up...eventually they told me that the rod was backordered and had been on backorder for a while ... and that I should call back Mid MAY....

slightly ticked off about this so I guess this is a mild ranting...I understand that they don't have any stock in and that I wouldn't be able to fish anyways...but it just sucks to get your hopes up and then find out that you've been lied to...

Looks to be about 1.5 months til I get a rod back. Makes me regret buying the st croix and wishing I had gone Loomis...atleast they send you the new rod first!

I hope they have my spinning rod. I'm probably going to call them by the end of the week, I'll let you know how my experience goes.

This is kind of troubling to hear. I just picked up a Premeir yesterday.

How is that troubling?  They're backordered on a rod.  It isn't as if St Croix is the only one who has that problem.

I find the outright lie troubling...it probably wasn't intentional but then that would indicate some type of miscommunication...I'm not sure...I'm just upset with not having a good solid rod to use =(

I was raving about the guides popping out on my St Croix fiberglass rod a few weeks ago. All I can say is that customer support has gone out of their way to make me happy. It is one reason that I will continue to support St. Croix.

I really hope this is an isolated incident with some miscommunication, and I hope Domino Dan has a better experience than I with the warranty.  I do love their rods, so I'll probably buy again at the right price.

so far, I've emailed customer support. They sent me an email back a few hours later giving me a phone number and extension to call. I'll call tomorrow and then post what they say. I'll also post after I either get my rod, find out it's backordered, or experience anything else with customer service.
