Just looking to hear a few reviews about it before possibly purchasing it.

How do you like it ? What else might it be good for, if anything? Shaky Head ?  I'm going to have 10-12lb fluoro on it for drop shotting, probably 1/4oz - 3/8oz max.

Also, what blank are these technique specific rods built on? Is it close to the IMX in weight / sensitivity?

I'd go to the store, but 3 out of 3 local stores, don't have the 822C currently in stock.

I have the DSR820S Mine is on a GLX blank. It's the only real finesse rod I have. I use it for 'shakey head' fishing also and it's excellent!  I believe the non-GLX dropshot rods are built on a 'Bronzeback' blank. It's very close to an IMX as I understand it. Hope this is helpful.

I don't think it's available in a 2 piece. Must be a mistake on the tackle site. Mine is only one and Loomis's website shows it as a 1 piece.

I Love them 50Mgs. If you watch them on ebay, they aren't too bad. Dropshotting and shakey head are finesse techniques. The 50Mg is a finesse reel that will handle any fish that grabs your lure. It is amazing to fish with also. I have 4 of them. JMHO

For me, it's not TOO finesse, 10-12lb line  ;D

But at the same time, I really do like the 50mg, and have wanted one for some time  ;D
