Cabelas rod and reel combos VS BPS rod and reel combos??

Featured Replies

I've noticed most  of the same reels are available in a combo deal from Cabelas and Bass Pro.  The difference is, Cabelas is offering for example the shimano Citica with their Fish Eagle II rod for $170 and BPS is offering the Citica with their Extreme XPS rod for $170.  Isn't the Extreme Rod a much better rod than the Fish Eagle II?  And if so, why is the Cabelas combo price not CHEAPER?  LOL  Do they honestly think we don't look at their biggest competitors very same type of combo's prices.

I bought a BPS combo - Citica 200D/Extreme XPS this week.  Previously, I bought a Saros/Xtreme XPS spinning combo.  BPS is 20+ miles closer to my house.  I've never tried the Fish Eagle II rods.

Never fished a Cabela's rod mostly because I never found one I liked the feel of.  I have several BPS Extreme rods and love them all.  If you buy them on sale or in a combo deal, I think they are hard to beat for the money.
