I currently use a Berkley Cherrywood 7' Medium casting rod for the Shakey Head and the Spot Remover's.

Is this a decent rod for these rigs or do I need a better one?

    I think you have the right rod, personally i use a 7' M/F spinning rod but if baitcasting works for you then more power to you.
