Need a new rod, medium or medium heavy?

Featured Replies

Well I found a great deal on a real but that unfortunately means I also need a new rod. The reel is an Abu Garcia ambassadeur C3 thats gonna be spooled with 12# flouro. It's gonna have to multi task, so i plan on worming and even throwing crankbaits on it.

The 2 questions are what rod length, 6'6" or 7', and medium or medium heavy? I'm in NJ so there aren't tons of giant fish, and I already have a 6'6" medium with mono on it. I was leaning towards 7' MH to round out my gear, but I'm open to opinions as I've never bought a set up with an intended technique. Usually I just fish what ever technique with what ever gear I have. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would go with a MH cause its casting and you've probably already got a med spinning setup. If not get a med.

6'6" if your mostly bank fishing, and 7 if you've got a boat.
