So i been thinking about switching to a florocarbon line for cranking next year. Just wondering if i did switch from using Triline Big Game in 10 lb test how would it benefit me to switch? And what brands are good. Was thinking about trying P Line do they make a good florocarbon line?

I have been having a lot of success with 20-pound Stren on a Curardo E5 reel.

But you can have any set up you like.

There is an article on a post in the forum about lines and the writer likes flouro for trebel hook baits.

If you add a Lucky Craft Ghost Minnow or Sexy Shad crankbait to the 20-pound floruo and a 5:1:1 reel you may have some good success.

Just read what the guys suggest and make up your own mind.

Some pros like Mono....Some like Fluoro.  KVD cranks with the XPS fluoro.  I have cranked with Pline CXX in the past; I just haven't felt the need for the extra 2ft that fluoro will gain me.  However; this year I have cranked quite extensively with Trilene fluoro, but will probably go back to CXX and leave fluoro for my jig/worm/c-rig rods.  If I was getting it free....I'd have the trilene fluoro on ever rod  

well my biggest concern is abrasion i guess im afraid of loosing cranks do to it hitting rocks. i check my line frequently but still afraid of it braking.

Just know this....fluorocarbon is Less manageable than mono.

I use fluorocarbon for jigs and T-rig baits.That's about it.

 

I use the XPS Fluorocarbon and it is more abrasion resistant and any nylon mono or co-polymer line I have used.
