getting a new reel, i need some opinions :)

Featured Replies

Hey guys, i got a quantam energy pt before christmas, the anti reverse stopped working on it, took it back, got my money back. To my surprise, i got another for christmas, great ;D! Then that one started making funny sounds and backlashing alot >;) so i am taking that one back either later today or tomarrow. I need to decide what to replace it with when i return it, should i get

1. Shimano Citica D

2. Abu Garcia Revo SX

3. Pfleuger President (not the new model)

All are baitcasters, this should be interesting ;D

BTW, the other reel i got was a curado e7 and i couldn't be happier, i can't decide between the 3 models that i want to replace my energy pt with (please help! :))

Congrats on the E7, that's one I would like to have before the spring thaw.  Never had shimano, but that's one of a couple I want before opening fishing.  As for the replacement reel, I am still an abu fan.

Sucks having problems like this don't it? ;D ;D

Good luck and have fun with what ever you chose-ff15

I've had my Presidents for 3 years now and they are still working and look like new (except for some boat rash!).  All I've done is a yearly cleaning and lube.  I've owned Trions even longer and still work great!!

Not really surprised about your Quatums--a lot of my friends have switched because of problems too.  They start out working great and shortly after they seem to blow up. ;)
