Crankbait Rod Suggestions

Featured Replies

I have a Shimano Citica 5.0:1 that needs a new rod. I will use it to fish mainly medium to deep cranks and 1/2 and up spinner baits. What do you guys suggest for $50-$80? Also should I look for graphite or fiberglass since it's mainly for crank baits?

7'0 MH BPS Cranking Stick, especially when they are on sale for $40. I have never used a St. Croix Premier cranking rod, but a lot of people on here like them for a good inexpensive rod.

I have the premier cranking a love it but with your price range only 10 dollars more you can get a mojo cranking rod that I'm sure is a great rod as well. If not the BPS crankin stick is the way to go.

In that price range, BPS Crankin' Stick.

For deep cranking i have been using the St. Criox Triumph in 7' Medium for the past couple of years.  Works great for about 60-70$

Agreed w/ above suggestions.

In that price range, the Premier would be about the top of the line. I would just cut it off as under 100$ and get a Premier cranking rod.

Of course, the BPS crankin' stik is a great mid-range choice, and even the older Berkley Lightning Rods (IM6) made great crankbait rods (I had a 7' MH that was outstanding for 3/8 oz and up cranks, DD22's, and Ledgebusters)...
