Casting light baits is just as much about the rod as it is about the reel.

If you are gonna cast 1/8 ounce lures, buy a Curado. I save that chore for my Okuma spinning rig w/ 10lb. cajun on it. The Citica is an awsome reel though. I have one on a med-heavy fast action 7ft mojo bass, and it does everything but cast light lures well. It is a great setup for most all of what I do besides busting brush from the shore. For that, I use a 5'6" rod.

I can cast light baits reasonably well with my Citica E and I have a pretty stout rod. Burley is right on--the rod is important too. I think if I used a slower action rod I could whip the light baits out farther than with my XF rod.

It isn't so much about the action as it is the rod's ratings.  A Kistler Helium II 6'9 MH-F is rated to 1/4 oz.  And the ratings hold true.

I think the action is important also. A rod with a softer tip loads up with lighter baits.
