which Hendrix rod???

Featured Replies

I need about 6-8 rods with a mix of spinning and baitcast. I looked at the rods on the web site and there are just so many to choose from.

What would a basic starter set of 6-8 rods be as far as models that Hendrix has for fishing North TX lakes?

Hm if your dead set on Hendrix this should be easy...

This would be my set up, but some of these are not ideal and I would personally not go with all Hendrix at all but heres my shot at this:

Baitcast:

Flipping Rod:

FS904x 7'6" 10-30lb 1/2 - 2 oz Fast Extra Heavy

Worm Rod:

WR843 7' 8 - 17lb 1/8 - 3/8 oz Fast Med Heavy

Frog/Swim Bait Rod:

FR845 7'0" 10-20lb 3/8 - 1 oz Mod Fast Med Heavy

Drop Shot Rod:

SJ783 6'6" 6-14lb 3/16 - 5/8 oz Fast Medium

Spinner Bait Rod:

66MH 6'6" 10-17lb 1/4 - 1 oz Fast Med Heavy

Crank rod:

CB845 7' 10-20lb 3/8 - 1 oz Mod Fast Med Heavy

Spincast rods:

Carolina rig:

SCR844 7' 10-25lb 1/4 - 1 oz Fast Heavy

Finesse rod:

SCB70ML 7' 8-17lb 1/16 - 3/16 oz Mod Fast Med Light

I had looked at the St. Croix LTB and the Elite, when someone said to look at the Hendrix.

I like the split handle on the LTB and the components on the Elite.

If your going to be paying 160-200 per rod I'd look at Powell, Kistler, Shimano all have amazing rods in that range.  I wouldn't order direct from retailer either, check out ***.
