Looks like an interesting alternative to the tennis racket over grip that I've been using.

Why wouldn't some good quality heavy duty heat shrink work?

That does look nice. Personally, I am not one to add grip to the handle. Perhaps it's my smaller hands but I prefer thinner vs. thicker handles.

I'm the same way island...

While they do look nice, I don't think I would like the feel of that all day... especially fishing in rain.

It does.

I like the worn cork handles, that shows you someone paid their dues.  If you think it looks cool go right ahead.
