Countdown's...

Featured Replies

Never used countdowns to target Bass before. Anybody out there use them for Bass??? I have a blast using the 01's for panfish, and have used the 07's for shallow 'Eye's, but that's about it.

ive used them in small creeks for lm and small mouth thats the only place ive ever fished them

They work very well with bass and many other species.  It sinks about 1' per second. Cast it out and count down (pardon the pun) til it reaches the depth you want to retrieve and reel it in. Vary the retrieve as you see fit and that is it.

Although they sink, they are still on the light side. While a casting reel can be used, it is far less hassle to use a spinning reel for the smaller sized conutdowns.

Bass on in 3...2...1...  :)    ;D

This is my favorite bait to use for yellow perch, reallly kills em. Thats not a pun Island Bass, they are made to count down. They really can keep you in a school of perch. For bass I much rather use a Balsa Shad Rap.

Hey PF : Do not give up on the glass shads. they are EXCELLENT BAITS, especially throwing into schools of breaking shad on the open water. In fact this is the only time I will ever say this CABELA"S Split Tail Glass Shad is just as good and half the price!

The Countdown is an excellent, underused and underrated bait. It'll catch anything that swims and is very good on both LM and SM.
