So basically i've got about 200 dollars to spend on some fishing stuff for the new year and I'm trying to figure out what would be the best for my money. The rod I want for deep cranking is too exspensive to purchase now and I dont want to short myself on a nice sensitive jig rod so I figured I would try to find a decent topwater rod that could do a few other things too. That rod should serve you well as a general purpose rod.

that is an excellent rod.  Bought one for my brother on thanksgiving and he's loved it.  I bought the 7' medium heavy fast action one and my brother uses it for spinnerbaits.  Well worth the money

good rod for the money is the BPS Extreme...esp when they are on sale for $59!

Anybody else? Is this rod even ideal for topwaters?
