which reel for a dobyns 735???

Featured Replies

Hello all. My wonderful girlfriend picked me up a Dobyns 735 frog rod for my birthday yesterday. She also got me a Curado 200E7.

Which reel would you use for frogging (both hollow and soft body)??? My current options are the curado, stx and patriarch. Thanks.

I'd go with the curado, its lighter and faster and has enough drag, dont the STX and Patriarchs have like twice the drag capabilities?

But, then again you might be wasting a curado...Im sure you could put the curado to better use on a rod designed for more finesse fihsing than the frog rod..

STX, hands down. The added drag is a major plus when pulling fish from heavy cover.
