I used to use a G Loomis Mossyback BCFR894 for flipping and a G Looomis Mossyback BCR874 for Carolina Rigs.  With both of these rods, I used braid. I recently upgraded to a GLX BCFR954 for flipping and a GLX BCR875 for Carolina Rigs.  Well, both of these rods have ReCoiled Guides and with the recent thread going around about grooving guides while using braid and about G Loomis's interesting warranty policy, I was thinking about using heavy Fluorocarbon on both.  So to finally get to my question, has anyone had any experience with using Fluorocarbon for either Flipping or Carolina Rigging?  Thanks in advance.

Yes I have done and used both. Most guys I know up here use flouro for C-Rigging the super clear deep smallie waters. Generally 17-20 pound line and then you could always use a braid leader if you wanted because it will help make the bait float and when c-rigging you want every advantage you can get when it comes to the hookset.

I generally flip and pitch moderate cover in clear water with 17 to 20 pound Trilene 100% or the Seaguar Abras-x (spelling)  stuff. Both are extremely strong and abrasion resistant. You don't quite have the sensitivity of braid but with using a Mossyback I don't think it really matter. Once again if you are flipping nasty brush you could use a braid leader for the abrasion resistance if you don't trust the flouro.

I personally don't use the braid leader because I like as few knots between the fish and I as possible. But I know a lot of guys on this site do.
