It appears to be an old 2 piece spin casting rod and written on the shaft in what appears to be hand script is:

Wright & McGill

"Granger" Super Deluxe (This line is a little hard to read, worn pretty good)

and has the eagle claw logo next to it.  It appear to be a

Under where the reel would go says

Eagle Claw

Does anybody have any information on it?  Wright and McGill said that they do not keep records of older model poles so I am a little curious as to what this rod was designed for.

I owned one with a Mitchell 300 when I was in highschool. Trout fishing.  Whoops , you said spin cast not spinning.  It was common see them with a Zeco 303 spincast reel.  It often used for trout and pan fish in the days of water bobbers.
